During our laboratory activity, I was able to name some of the electrical tools used in my professional course. Some of the materials were heavy to lift. The main purpose of our activity was to familiarize us with the fundamental laboratory equipment and components. In achieving our goal, we will be able to determine their significance. In the end, the importance of having basic knowledge regarding this matter was to avoid us from perilous situations that derive from ignorance.
Week One: Basic Concepts in Electric Circuits

Electric Circuit
- is an interconnection of electric elements.
Types of Elements :
1. Active Elements- capable of generating energy.
Examples: Battery and Generator
2. Passive Elements- absorbs energy.
Examples: Resistors, Capacitors and Inductors.
Two Types of Sources :
1. Independent Source
2. Dependent Source
Formula for Current:

In the beginning of our class, orientations were provided. A brief description of the course was given. After that, the lesson started in defining electric circuits.
I was amazed how the law of derivatives and integration was applied in this subject. I never thought I will encounter this kind of mathematical process regarding this topic. At that point, I realize that it important to memorize the formulas in geometry in obtaining the equation of the given graph and its slope.
